I’ve never been happy with the appearance of my smile. I didn’t have braces when I was a child, and I didn’t think there was an alternative to braces to straighten my crooked teeth. A few years ago, a dentist even suggested I get braces now; but believe me, I’m beyond the age where braces are common in my social circles. My husband recently recommended Dr. Tom Hughes when I expressed my lack of faith in my previous dentist. As soon as I entered Dr. Hughes’ office, I knew something different was going on. The walls were covered with large photographs of people with beautiful smiles.
My first thought was, “It must be nice to be born with beautiful teeth!” Then, I started leafing through the photo albums in his office. They were all before and after photos of Dr. Hughes’ patients. Most of them certainly were not born with beautiful teeth, but the “after” photos…they were amazing! Dr. Hughes responded to my desire for a beautiful smile by showing me how he could accomplish this change with the use of porcelain veneers in only two office visits! I was shocked!
I never thought that cosmetic dentistry was something “regular people” did. It’s a Hollywood thing, right? I occasionally ran across ads in the phone book and elsewhere showing cosmetic dentistry, but without a personal reference and going to Dr. Hughes’ office, I never would have considered it. I also never thought I’d find someone with the skills of Dr. Hughes in our little town of Monument.
Well, the results are truly miraculous. The procedure was easy, painless and very affordable. My only regret was that I didn’t do this sooner. I am so pleased with the appearance of my teeth, and I know I smile more! I don’t go around announcing to people that I’ve had some cosmetic dentistry done, but I can tell that many people are noticing that something very nice has happened to my appearance.
I am a long-term resident of this community, and you may know me. You may think that I just came back from a vacation or perhaps you just never noticed what an engaging smile I have. But, I know now why people are smiling at me…for the first time, I am smiling at them!
